Now ESIC dues shall pay before 15th day of month

Whereas the draft rule under ESIC published on 1st April-2017, in which ESIC proposed to change last payment due date of ESIC Contributions, required to replace with "before 15th of every month in wages dues falls" in place of "before 21st of the month in which wages dues falls" as well as sets 30 days for observation of Objection with valid reason form employers, if any. Now after the rule changed as per amendment ESIC contribution shall be payable before and on 15th instead of 21st. This rule should be implemented w.e.f. June-2017.  Hence ESIC Contributions for the month of June-2017 shall be paid before and on 15th July-2017. Get notification in PDF

Clarification regarding Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017

Please be informed that the clarification given by the Ministry of Labour and employment regarding new amendment under the Maternity Benefit act. Following points are evaluated: Ø    All new said amended clauses in notification except sub-section (5) of section 3 will be effected w.e.f. 1st Day of April, 2017  Increase Maternity Benefit from 12 weeks to 26 weeks for 1 st  & 2 nd  children, and 12 weeks for more than 2 children. 12 weeks Maternity Benefit to a Commissioning Mother and adopting mother Provision for work from home for nursing mother. Every establishment shall intimate in writing and electronically to every women at the time of her initial appointment about the benefits available under the Act. Ø    the 1st day of July, 2017, as the date on which sub-section (5) of section 3 of the said Act shall come into force. Rates of Provident Fund (PF) Administrative Charges reduced

Rates of Provident Fund (PF) Administrative Charges reduced The Employees’ Provident Fund organization (EPFO) has reduced the PF administrative charges to 0.65% (earlier the rate was 0.85%). Furthermore, the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI) administrative charges have been reduced to 0% (nil) (earlier the charges were 0.01%). Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India (" Ministry of Labour ")  vide  Official Gazette notification dated 31 March 2017 has appointed 1 April 2017 as the date on which the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act 2017 (" MB Amendment Act ") has come into force. However, the relevant provision on the "work from home" option will come into effect from 1 July 2017. The MB Amendment Act had received Presidential assent on 27 March 2017 and was published in the Official Gazette on 28 March 2017. EPF Amnesty Scheme Extended Till 30th June 2017

An Employees’ Enrollment Campaign has been launched by Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation during the period 01.01.2017 to 31.03.2017, in order to extend social security benefits to all the eligible workers in the country. During the Campaign, various financial incentives are being offered to establishments to enroll their workers.  Now the respective Campaign has been extended till 30th June 2017 where in all other Procedure of payment /Period etc. remains the same.

Maruti unrest verdict: Trade union seeks review

NEW DELHI: RSS affiliated Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), the biggest trade union in the country, said that that in the Maruti case, the management of Manesar plant of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd deserves equal punishment as they were cause of the action taken by agitated workers and strongly demanded that the BJP-ruled Haryana state must present the workers side of the case in court, asking for a review of judgment, which has given life imprisonment to 13 workers, and announced five year imprisonment to four accused, while 14 other workers were fined and released after four and half years of imprisonment. Gratuity Upto Rs.20 Lakh Relaxed From Income Tax

Private-sector employees will soon be able to withdraw up to Rs.20 lakh in tax-free gratuity after the Centre decided to amend a law and bring them at par with central government staff. Currently, private sector employees can get tax exemption up to Rs.10 lakh in gratuity after five years of continuous employment. A tripartite meeting between the labour ministry, trade unions and employee bodies decided on Thursday that a bill to amend the Payment of Gratuities Act will be brought in the second half of the Budget session of Parliament. The Left-affiliated labour unions also demanded that employees get gratuity after one year of service but no decision was taken. The move comes after the seventh pay commission’s recommendation allowing central government employees to earn tax-exempted gratuity up to Rs.20 lakh. “It is a good move to bring the private sector at par with central government employees. This move will also partly offset the impact of inflation,” said Rahul Garg, leader

EPF Admin Charges Reduce from 0.85% to 0.65 % from 1st Apr 2017

EPFO the administrative charges payable by the employer for the purposes of paragraph 30 and sub-paragraph (1) of paragraph 38 of the said Scheme with effect from  1st April, 2017  at 0.65 per cent  (zero point six five per cent.) of the pay as referred to in the said paragraphs  subject to a minimum sum of seventy-five rupees  per month for every non-functional establishment having no contributory member  and five hundred rupees per month per establishment for other  establishments. Further the Central Government hereby determines  that no sum shall be payable for the time being by the employer  in relation to his employees as the further sum payable by the employer every month to the Deposit-Linked Insurance Fund for the meeting the expenses in connection with the administration of the  Employees Deposit-Linked  Insurance Scheme, 1976  other than the expenses towards the cost of any benefits provided by or under that scheme.
