Shops in Tamil Nadu to keep open all days till 22/3/2017

Permitting all shops and establishments to keep open on all 365 days in a year initially for a period of one year Under the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishment, Act. [G.O.Ms.No.55, Labour and Employment (K2), 25th February 2016 ] No. II(2)/LE/242/2016.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 6 of the Tamil Nadu Shop and Establishments Act, 1947 (Tamil Nadu Act XXXVI of 1947), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby exempts all the shops and establishments from the provision of sub – section (1) of Section 11 of the said Act, and permits all the shops and, establishment in Tamil Nadu to keep open on all 365 days of the year initially for a period of one year, in public interest with effect on and from the date of publication of this Notification in the  Tamil Nadu Government Gazette,  subject to the following conditions, namely:- Every employee shall be given one day holiday in a week on rotation basis, and the details of every employee shall be provided in ‘Form S’ an...

Contribute to Labour Welfare Fund - Tamil Nadu

Form-  The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board, DMS campus, Teynampet, Chennai-600 006   Action under the Revenue Recovery Act would be initiative against organizations which failed to contribute to the Labour Welfare Fund before January 31, according to a press release from the Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board. As per Section 2 (d) of Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1972, the stipulated share of contribution for 2015 from employers and employees working in factories, motor transport undertakings, plantations and catering establishments and shops with five or more employees should be made before January 31. Ensure Minimum Wages of Rs. 15,000

The Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU), Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangam and All India Farm Workers’ Association affiliated to Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a demonstration here on Monday 18th January 16, demanding the government to ensure minimum wages of Rs. 15,000 to all workers. Representatives of the forums said that the government must eradicate contract system of employment in production and services sectors, increase working days to 250 days from 100 days and raise wages to Rs. 300 per day for beneficiaries of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. The government must fix remunerative prices for agricultural produce in accordance with recommendations of Swaminathan Commission, stop land acquisition for industrialisation and give free house site pattas to workers in the unorganised sector and farm labourers, they said. The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 Tamil Nadu Labour and Employment Department  Application of the Provision of Maternity Benefit Act G.O. Ms No.144, Labour and Employment (H2) 14 th September 2015 No. II(2)/LE/565/2015 – Under the proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 2 of the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961(Central Act 53 of 1961), the Governor of the Tamil Nadu hereby declare that all the provisions of the said Act shall apply to the motor transport undertaking as declined in clause (g) of Section 2 of the Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961 (Central Act 27 of 1961), in the State of Tamil Nadu.
