Now ESIC dues shall pay before 15th day of month

Whereas the draft rule under ESIC published on 1st April-2017, in which ESIC proposed to change last payment due date of ESIC Contributions, required to replace with "before 15th of every month in wages dues falls" in place of "before 21st of the month in which wages dues falls" as well as sets 30 days for observation of Objection with valid reason form employers, if any. Now after the rule changed as per amendment ESIC contribution shall be payable before and on 15th instead of 21st. This rule should be implemented w.e.f. June-2017.  Hence ESIC Contributions for the month of June-2017 shall be paid before and on 15th July-2017. Get notification in PDF

Shops in Tamil Nadu to keep open all days till 22/3/2017

Permitting all shops and establishments to keep open on all 365 days in a year initially for a period of one year Under the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishment, Act. [G.O.Ms.No.55, Labour and Employment (K2), 25th February 2016 ] No. II(2)/LE/242/2016.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 6 of the Tamil Nadu Shop and Establishments Act, 1947 (Tamil Nadu Act XXXVI of 1947), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby exempts all the shops and establishments from the provision of sub – section (1) of Section 11 of the said Act, and permits all the shops and, establishment in Tamil Nadu to keep open on all 365 days of the year initially for a period of one year, in public interest with effect on and from the date of publication of this Notification in the  Tamil Nadu Government Gazette,  subject to the following conditions, namely:- Every employee shall be given one day holiday in a week on rotation basis, and the details of every employee shall be provided in ‘Form S’ an...

LABOUR REFORM TO BOOST JOBS - Maha Govt Eases Labour Hiring Limit  In an important reform to boost labour hiring in Maharshtra, the state government has extended the hiring limit for labour contractors to more than 20 labourers without seeking permission from the Labour Commissioner. The move, announced by the state government without much fanfare, now gives the liberty to labour contractors to hire 50 labourers from the earlier 20 without needing to go to the Labour Commissioner for registration and other associated clearances. “There are around 17 lakh contractual labourers in the state, this move would benefit them as labour contractors used to incur expenditure and time once they had crossed the limit of 20 labourers as then they had to register with the Labour Commissioner. The contractors used to pass on this expenditure on to the companies for providing labour. Now that we have extended the limit from 20 to 50, we believe this would create more jobs.“...

Amendments in Kerala Shops & Establishments Rules,1961

On 16th September 2015, Labour Department, Govt. of Kerala has issued final notification to amend the Kerala S & CE Rules, 1961. Some of the salient amended provisions are as follows: • Non-renewal of registration before its expiry did not invite any excess fee and now the same would now invite 25% excess fee. ( Rule 2B sub rule 2)  • Application for amendment of registration certificate to be submitted within 7 days of such change. The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 Tamil Nadu Labour and Employment Department  Application of the Provision of Maternity Benefit Act G.O. Ms No.144, Labour and Employment (H2) 14 th September 2015 No. II(2)/LE/565/2015 – Under the proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 2 of the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961(Central Act 53 of 1961), the Governor of the Tamil Nadu hereby declare that all the provisions of the said Act shall apply to the motor transport undertaking as declined in clause (g) of Section 2 of the Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961 (Central Act 27 of 1961), in the State of Tamil Nadu.
