Draft Model Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Services) Act 2015- High lights The government has framed a new model law that would allow Cinema Halls,  Restaurants,  Shops,  Banks  and other such workplaces to be open 24/7.  The law would also enable women to work during the night in such offices with mandatory cab services and other workplace facilities for them. The government has put in public domain a draft Cabinet note on Model Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Services) Act 2015 for inviting comments from various Ministries and government departments.  This will act as an advisory to the state governments which will have the option to either adopt this model law or make changes to it according to their local needs. Contribute to Labour Welfare Fund - Tamil Nadu

Form-  The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board, DMS campus, Teynampet, Chennai-600 006   Action under the Revenue Recovery Act would be initiative against organizations which failed to contribute to the Labour Welfare Fund before January 31, according to a press release from the Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board. Dear All, Please find the Link below for official notification The Rajasthan government has revised on 17 December 2015  the minimum wages for labourers with effect from January 1, 2015. Unskilled labourers will get a minimum wage of Rs 197 instead of Rs 189 while minimum wage for semi-skilled labourers has been raised from Rs 199 to Rs207 Similarly, the minimum wage for skilled labourers has been raised from Rs 209 to Rs 217 and from Rs 259 to Rs 267 for highly skilled labourers. Sexual Harassment - Internal Complaints Committee Against Sexual Harassment

On the landmark Judgement by the Apex Court of India dated on 13th Aug 1997 of Vishaka judgement that recognized and addressed sexual harassment at the workplace as a human rights violation.  The Supreme court in its judgement said every women has a right to a safe workplace .  The court gave directives for all employers/organizations making it mandatory to institute sexual harassment complaints committees at workplaces. The judgement also created sexual harassment prevention guidelines for the workplace. The sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal ) Act 2013 has replaced the guidelines/norms laid down by Hon' able Supreme Court on sexual harassment and came into force from 9 December 2013.  The Govt . of India is yet to make rules for carrying out the provisions of this Act, 2013.
