Minimum Wages Revised - Meghalaya April 2015

Meghalaya government announced a minor hike for minimum daily wage for labourers and workers employed under the 28 Schedule of Employments in the state.
In a statement here, Labour department Principal Secretary said the revised wages will take effect from April 2015 wherein various categories of workers are entitled to be paid.
"The government has revised the minimum wages payable to the employees under the 28 Schedule of Employments with effect from 1st April, 2015," Labour Principal Secretary M S Rao said in the notification.
The wages for unskilled workers was hiked from Rs 100 per day to Rs 170, Rs 181 for semi-skilled workers.
For skilled workers the rate was hiked from Rs 140 to Rs 191 while Rs 212 for highly-skilled workers, he said.
The last hike in minimum wage was in 2013.
